K&N for 300ex

Default K&N for 300ex

I have a STOCK 300ex and im getting a K&N air filter for it. Would i have to rejet???? Or am i all right with running that filter without rejetting???

THANKS FOR ANY INFO!!!!

No but if you ride in mud and dust with the airbox off you might have to rering.

Default K&N for 300ex

These rejet questions alway amaze me! What was the point in getting the K&N in the first place??? To get more air. If you add more air, you have to add more fuel. If you don't have to rejet, you just wasted your money on a useless mod, that will probably ruin your rings anyway.

well, an engine only flows as well as its highest bottleneck. the air enters the filter, goes throught the carb, then intake, through the compustion, and out the exhaust header and muffler. An air filter is only a start. adding an air filter wont help you a bit unless the stock air filter is the most restrictive, and most times it's actually the muffler. upgrading the air filter and the exhaust at once is usually enough to re-jet, but just the air filter shouldnt be a big deal, and probably wont help you much unless you do the exhaust too.
