I had just changed the oil in my 400. After I had finished I started it up. It smelled like somthing was burning, not oil. So I had shut it off. I noticed the head was already hot to touch after about 30 seconds. So I checked everything over again. Started it up and everything was fine. Now I always checking how hot it is. I was wondering how hot it should be. when I got done riding I felt the case it was to hot to touch is that normal. The oil resivor is also to hot to touch.
