Default rev limiter comparison 300ex

Hi, i was just wondering wich revlimiter is the better buy.

1. trx300ex big gun over rev. This rev box lets me go 1750RPMs over stock
but it is also 120-140$.

2. trx300ex CDI Rev Box. This Rev box lets me go 1000RPMs over stock
but it is only 45-50$

Between the two is the big gun's 750 RPM's more really worth 80$ more.
I know that the Big Gun is supossed to give me at least 3 more HP's.
How many HP's will the CDI give me? or if any at all.

I'm not really looking for top speed improvments. What i really want is more quickness, better timming and, higher top speed in the lower gears.

Can you tell me if there are any more products out like these in around the same price range. I do not want to eliminate the rev box.
I just want to improve the RPM levels.

Thanx,
Jake

I try to stay away from rev boxes. Your engine will not make anymore power from the over-rev, it will only destroy your engine faster. That said, if you have the engine built to run at high-rpm you can take advantage of the 1000 or 1750rpm extra. I have heard from a few mechanics that when the stock rev-limiter kicks in the vavles are probably floating which is not good. I would say spend your money on a high performance cam and valve springs before going with an aftermarket cdi.

If it were my choice on the rev boxes I would say go for the 1000rpm one as long as it is from a reputable company.
