Has anyone done this? if so how hard of a swap was it? I have a 87 250R with a great motor and the rest is a little rough and just wondering if it could be done? Also does anyone know if 400EX front shocks will work on my R?

i've seen it done in a magazine. they had put a 250r engine and everything neede to run it in the 400ex.

Ive seen those but they use a CR250 motor and not a 250R motor.

 

I think I would probably just by a new stock 250R chassis or find one that is in really good condition. The 250R chassis has the best geometry of any quad. I think you might be about to pick up a new stock chassis for around 1500.00. I could be wrong but I think I have seen them for that.

Thats a bummer. There is probably good used ones out there if you look hard enough.

 

What companies are still making aftermarket frames for them? Do any of them except the stock suspension components? Also how are the chromoly chassis for longevity compared to the stockers?
