Anyone had Recall Done yet?
#1
Man this is starting to tick me off. Anyone had the Tie Rod Recall done yet on 250, 350,400 etc? My Rancher was in shop for 2 weeks in may waiting for them to come off backorder. Ended taking it back, said they will call. Well No call, no info from Honda. Do they expect us not to ride for whole summer or what? (Of course I ride but I take it easy)
Starting to wish I bought a Polaris.

just check your tie rods before each ride and ride as hard as you want.
I have had one come apart on me before. I hit a tree at about 45 and face plowed the road. Always check your tie rods. I bent my rear axle in 2 directions.

I'm still waiting to hear from Honda. I had to go to my dealer who verified I'm included under the recall.
I'm getting just a little pissed! Is Honda going to reinburse me for all this downtime? I bought this thing to enjoy and all its doing is sitting in the garage.

Just ride it and check your tie rods. They recommended not riding to cover ther ****. You can still ride.

Exactly, you should check the tierods very frequently until they are replaced. They are telling you not to ride so that if you have bad tierods, and one fails and you hurt yourself or the machine, Honda is no longer liable for the damages because you were aware of the possible consequences. Just ride carefully until its properly fixed.

I was stunned; I called the California Attorney Generals office. They told me that I had to pursue this in the state the bikes were bought, but that I should check out the lemon laws. I called the Ohio AG office and the guy I spoke to told me that I had a claim and to file a report online. I did so, and then I called Andrews Cycle, where I bought the two Rancher AT's to begin with. Now, I have called them and several other dealers in the area several times in the recent past, but have always been told that they had no parts and they did not know when they were going to get them. Last night I mentioned to the manager that I had spoke to the state AG office and I was looking into pursuing new bikes under the lemon law. He told me that he needed to check a couple of things and he would call me back. 10 minutes later he calls and tells me to bring the Ranchers in and he will pull some strings and get the tie rods replaced for me. I will believe it when I see it.
I have been very disappointed in Honda through this whole process. They "sell" quality and reliability and then this is the way I get treated?
