How often are you guys changing your oil on your 400exs? Just curious.

 

10-20 HOURS. I know your owners manual says 100 hours, but Honda has a vested interest in presenting its vehicles as being "low maintenance", so they are giving you a best case scenario. 100 hours would have to be under ideal conditions...........like driving on the street!

Off-road riding is by its very nature hard on oil. First of all, unless you ride a 450R which has the trans oil seperate from the engine oil (God bless Honda!), you are lubing a transmission as well as your engine. Now that is really hard on your oil! And, the conditions are dusty and worse than stop-and-go traffic in your car. I play it safe and change it often.
