I am getting ready to get back into atvs after a brief time away (having kids=$$$). I'll probably go with another Recon because of cost and how much fun I had with my last one. I was wondering if anyone has done any modifications to their Recons, such as pipes or breather kits or anything else for that matter (skidplates, shocks, winch, etc.). What kind of results did you get? I opened up the snorkel hole on my old one (it looked so small!) and it ran terrible, so it was obvious a little rejetting might add some power. I'll probably be keeping this machine for a long time and I'm wondering what I'll be able to do to improve it as money trickles back into the family economy. Thanks for any input! BK

I've not done any myself yet. There is one guy I forget his handle but he'll probably see this post after a while and respond. He has a few mods. I did put the 25" tires and wheels off my rancher on the recon. It did an impressive job in there water/mud overall. I'm going to snork it pretty soon. What size of pipe did you use for yours when it ran rough?

At the upper end of the stock air intake there is an opening about the size of a quarter. All I did was make the hole larger and it started running rough. I figure the stock airbox must be pretty restrictive if that small of a change affected it. I would bet that with a larger pipe and re-jetted that there could be a fairly significant power increase.
