Alot of times I will just cut my old grips off with a utility knife. When you put your Oury grips on you should poke a small hole in the end of them and also use some 3M adhesive it will help them slide on easier when it is wet and when it is dry it will keep them from sliding off. I also use safety wire at 3 different points. If you dont like to wear gloves when you are riding you might want to skip the wiring.

If you have hypodernic needle i use rubbing alcohol get some in to both ends (try holding pressure in the syringe and twist the grip back and forth). To put it on i would use a name brand grip glue it lets it slide on very ez and will hold it (to let air out use the hypodernic needle through the end and that way the hole is to small to see and it will not let dirt/crud/water in). It might sound hard but it is simple and the professional way to get it done.

Use a heat gun. It took mine off in less than 5 minutes Heat them up and they slide right off.

TO REMOVE STUCK GRIPS ALL YOU NEED TO DO IS SLIDE A THIN SCREW DRIVER BETWEEN THE GRIP AND THE HANDLE BAR, SPRAY IN SOME WD40,TWIST THE GRIP AND IT WILL COME RIGHT OFF.

In the original post rockscott asked how to change the grips on a Ruby. This machine has a thumb throttle. If you are worried about the paint under the grip us something nonabrasive.

The Rubi also has chrome handlebars, so there is no paint under the grips.
