Stock you are in trouble and even with some mods too. it depends of if the v rider knows how to launch it.

In a drag race? If yes, the V-force will take it, it has a great start, and also a higher speed than the EX400. And PhatDave, it may be big, but it could still jump!

Stock for stock the Vforce would slaughter a 400EX in a straight line. I don't know how well the V-twins respond to mods but I have heard they are easily modded. I think if you want to be able to take a Vforce in a drag then you need motor work. I would say high compression piston, cam, exhaust, air filter, and rejet the carb and you should be able to hold off the Vforce. Again I can't say what would happen if the V had some mods done too.

The V-Force is a monster of power, but handles like the huge heavy tank that it is. In a drag, the EX would lose by a mile. On a nice tight woods trail, the hulking V-Force would be at a huge disadvantage.

The Vforce feels like its 100lbs lighter than it is. Handles great, very fast out of the corners on a trail. Handels better than a DS and they 55lbs lighter. 400EX is still the best handeling atv.
