I was just wondering what else I could do to my Recon for not much money...any suggestions?

Also, I want to install a speedometer. Any way I can do this? Would a car speedometer work? The idea just came up and I thought I would pitch it to you guys

Looks like you have already done the basic engine mods. I have experimented with different tires, etc., but always go back to stock. The little bike is darn near perfect. Why mess with perfection?

I guess you're right. It really is damn near perfect, I thinks it's a great design. I can use it for both utility and sport. It even tears it's way through mud, and if you get ti stuck, it's light enough to just lift out. She's pretty quick too, with the engine mods and all.

I was thinking about softer suspension. I know Progressive Suspension makes front shocks for it for fairly cheap, not shure about the rear.

Also, does anyone know of a header pipe made for the recon? I am still using the stock header.

I had a higher compression piston in mind too....

I've been looking for a header pipe for this thing, but to no avail. Anyone know where I can find a header for this thing?

If I were to just take the old one and sand it down to bare spiffy metal, would there be any way to keep it from rusting?

A recon and a 250ex are the same. After 2001 its the same head as well. THe only difference in a recon and a 250 ex is the plastic and front brakes. THe frame on an ex is painted grey a recon is black.
