Default HELP!!! Need more power for 300ex

well.. the lower u make the gearing the better the xcel.. but u lose top end. if u make the gearing higher, ull gain more top end, but it will take longer to get there, aka losing xcel.

Default HELP!!! Need more power for 300ex

If you are totally stock, a pipe and a few holes in the air box lid along with jetting will give you a lot more power, the stock pipe is very small. Going up to a 14 tooth front will give you more top end, the first gear is really low, so acceleration won't be much of a problem, but you won't be able to put the case saver back on, the bigger sprocket won't let if fit. Check ebay for 300ex parts, lots of cheap stuff there. A rev box would help, the stock cdi will cut out too soon to make the most power, because you will rev faster and higher with a good pipe and filter set up. Without going into the motor, there isn't a lot more power to be had,it's only a 282 cc motor !!!

get a slip-on, k&n and jet kit ..... and if u have any xtra dough left get a rev box.
anything further would require getting into the motor as in a big bore hi comp kit and hi perf cam ..... that or sell it and get a 400EX.
