Does the 250R have the same value as before?

I used to think my market for a 1988 Honda Fourtrax 250R would stay strong, and in big demand. I wished the prices for clean "R's" would stay high.
But it looks like the market has fell out like it did for Hi-Performance three wheelers in the mid-90's. It sure faded fast! Nothing like a bunch of high tech, new models to soften the market.
What is a clean '86, '87, '88 or '89 250R worth? Modified or stock?
Would you trade an moderately modified, very clean, '88 250R for a '04 YFZ450 in the same condition?

Personally, I thought the 250R'S were overpriced a few years ago and are just now becoming more reasonable. And no, I wouldn't trade a YFZ for a 250R, although I' sure there are some out there that would.
