Whatever oil you choose, be sure it is MOTORCYCLE SPECIFIC and API SG/JASO MA. http://www.thumperfaq.com/oil.htm
I have spent a great deal of time researching different oils. I prefer the synthetics, and I prefer the ester synthetics (Maxima Extra), over the PAO synthetics (like Mobil 1 and Amsoil). http://www.maximausa.com/technical/l...beNews2002.pdf
If you do a search, you will find lots of posts about oils, and no lack of controvercy and even just plain emotion. Everybody has a different perspective and a different opinion. Your statement "can you get it at autozone" is pretty scary! If that is your only criteria, you are probably going to limit your choices to some pretty mediocre products..................
Oil is no place to try and go cheap! Your little 250 holds less than 2 quarts of oil, so even the finest oils available aren't going to represent a major expense.

I haven't looked at a bottle of Kawi lately, but both Honda and Yamalube branded oils have quietly gone from API SG to SJ (no doubt for economic reasons), so I no longer even consider them to be a viable option. Do us a favor, and take a look at your Kawi bottle, and tell us what it is..............
Mobil 1 MX4T is widely available, and just about identical to Amsoil. However, Mobil 1 is very expensive, because I suspect that they are simply trading on their name ($10 per quart around here). Amsoil's marketing practices are ridiculous, so I would pass them up because of that.
