My brother in law went into the military and he left me his quad to try and sell. Its a 2000 400ex it has an HMF pipe, nerf bars (ac) ,bumpers, aftermarket handlebars and works shocks, It runs like a top and he has taken very good care of it, he was wanting to get $3000 out of it does that seem fair? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

 

Sounds high to me unless it has very, very low hours (meaning less than 50). Add up the aftermarket add-ons and multiple by .30. That is the approx value for the stuff. I am guessing you can get around $2,500.

yea its a little high you can pick up nice used 400ex's for like $3000..i mean like 2002 with the same amout of mods on and taken care of very good...maybe see if you can talk him down...but being that you know him personnally you know the history of the quad...

I'm in the process of getting a 04 400EX with about $700 in mods for $3000. So yeah, thats a little high

 

thats about average around here. i paid $2500 for my stock 01 this spring. location has a lot to do with things as well.

 

Boy what a difference a month makes!! I asked this same question a little over a month ago about a completely stock 2000 400ex and was told up to 3200 on here. NADA list them between 2950 and 2300. That is usually what banks will loan on it. With the mods you listed, AND if its in real good shape, I would start at 3000. You can always lower the price if needed!!
