I might have an idea how he bent the axle. I have a 250EX and I got my rear axle bent because my friend and I were riding at night and he was coming straight at me and he wouldn't get out the way for some damn reason so I tried to get out of the way by turning right and then he hit my rear left wheel and flipped the ATV he was riding. The next day I was riding my 250 and found out that my axle got bent from that. That could be how he did it but I don't know for sure.

I hit a tree at about 45mph with the left rear. It bent the axle in 2 directions! I didn't get hurt but it was a rush let me tell you. It would take alot to bend an axle.</end quote></div>
Did the same exact thing on my 2004 250EX and got catapolted off to the side of the path and later run over by my ghostriding bike... Luckily I was going about the same speed as the bike so it didn't hurt to bad until we were stopped by a tree.
Axle was bent and I ridin it around a bit like that just got a replacement axle to swap the old one out.

My buddy bent the rear axle going about 35 on a muddy/snow covered trail.
Hit something but didn't flip or anything. Lucky I guess.
2007 Rancher ES. (Rim bent too)
Looked like a lot of wobble so I replaced it ( didn't want to damage bearings et al, in the rear end.)
New axle $125
Labor $300
No injury...priceless!
