drilling holes in airbox,is it worth it?

Default drilling holes in airbox,is it worth it?

The 98 recon doesn't have the hemi head on it. It won't respond much to mods.

Chunk the lid. Stay out of the lake.

if i take the lid off will i need to rejet a recon, or is it the same as my 250ex.

You should consider the increased air filter maintenece associated with no airbox/dilled lid. I ran mine with no lid and the airfilter got dirty at least twice as fast.

be sure to drill a 7/8 inch hole right through your exhaust pipe also, adds insane power

i drilled my 400ex. i drilled directly at the back of the box. 2 holes

If you are going to do this, drill the lid, not the box. That way, you can always just buy a new lid and rejet it back to stock if you want. Next, you need to put in fairly large holes(7/8" or 1") and you will need a few of them, maybe start out with 5 or 6. Airbox mods alone will give you very modest power gains, you will really need to replace the stock exhaust also if that is what you are running. You might also want to replace the stock airfilter for a better aftermarket model. Yes, you will have to clean your filter much more often after doing this.
