2006 rincon
#4
After owning the first breed of Rincon in 2003,I must say that im not in the least bit impressed with the new 2006 Rincon either..
So its got 25cc more, big freaking deal, you probably wont notice that to much..EFI is a NICE thing, and so is the new front disk brakes..But where in the heck is the 4-5 speed Auto that most every PAST Rincon owner has been asking for years now at?What about the POOR downhill engine braking and the same old 3wd,non adjustable suspension??
Its just what I expected coming from Honda though.

Don't be fooled with the small bump in engine size and EFI as being the only changes to the engine.
Honda officials at the show said that this engine puts out over 15% more power than the 2005 version.
Those unfamiliar with horsepower outputs on these small engines...15% is alot.
I wouldn't judge the power aspect of the new model until it has gotten out to the public for real world testing.

15% is alot more power, however,as MANY other loyal Honda fans have allready stated, the Rincon still has minimal changes to it to merit buying or trading up for one.. You sure as hell wont see me running to my dealer and asking him to trade my 800 efi Bomb or KQ for one of these new Rincon,s,this I can gaureentee.

They can say anything. Be nice to read some real world reviews from test riders to get a seat of the pants difference between the 05 and 06 model. If I had a Bomb 800 or other big bore no way would I think of trading simply for this. I wouldn,t even trade my 05 Rincon for this. Not that much difference and even if I sold it and bought an 06 it would be losing money to upgrade still.
I would switch to another brand first with alot more power, discs, low range, locker etc... My main reason would be the V-twin engine also that most big bores not sport.

ATVBOY,
im with yah brother. The EFI is not even a big deal to me on the Rincon because of all the ATVs I've owned since 1983,the Rincon was amongst the best at cold winter starting, one area where EFI really SHINES at..As for getting another ATV with lockers and other standard features not seen on the Rincon,I could'nt agree with you more.Thats why I own a new KQ and Bomb 800 for.
15% more power than the older Rincon?Yep,it very well could be nothing more than a marketing scheme from Honda..Look at when Honda introduced the new 'torque sensing' front differential...Alls it was,was another fancy word for 3wd..It works for awhile, than after a few months, your back to 3wd.
