I wonder how the new 450's will run. You guys left out the part about changing the bore and stroke and the carb!! Is it going to be a more rev happy motor now? You also forgot to mention that it is heavier. 13 pounds for the e start. Not saying thats bad, but I would think you could feel 13 pounds after a few hours. Overall, it should be a good year for atv's in general!!

I think the trend toward lots of "updates" is very positive! This makes the machines more "evolutionary", rather than "revolutionary". MX dirt bikes get sometimes dramatic updates almost every year (the CRF450 is on its 4th generation frame), and nobody thinks of that as a bad thing.

I like the idea that we are starting to see the dirtbike trend of updates every year going to quads. Shows the sport is gettng BIG! The only thing I don't like about "updates", is that I can't buy a new one every year!

There obviously seems to be a trend toward larger sport bikes (DS, V-force, Raptor) and even larger utilities. It takes a few years to develop a new machines if you are going to do it right.

I think Honda is being smart here, they are marketing to Honda loyalists, who are not going to buy Polaris or Yamaha, keeping this in mind it seems to be the most cost effective way to do business.

Look at how many models Polaris sells, hell they are competing agains themselves in some categories it seems. Doesn't really make a lot of sense and can't be very cost effective to produce two ATV's in nearly every category. Does any dealer really stock every polaris model available?? Unlikely, the dealers around here don't even have enough room for what they are carrying now.

Honda and Bombardier are being smart in their approach IMO. They are producing the best quality ATV's in their categories and by focusing on quality rather then quantity they are producing better overall quality machines.

With the exception of MORE POWER... or ENOUGH power.

Hey, truth is that we can all kill ourselves just fine on a 400EX!

The CRF450 dirt bikes are getting 55 horsepower! Sounds like they are giving us something closer to the dirt bike engine, rather than the "detuned" 04-05 engine. With higher compression, FRC carb, etc., getting more power than you can use, shouldn't be any problem at all!

Im sorry to hear that. I thought that most quad related deaths stopped in the late 80's. Sucks im wrong.

I like the updates to the 450R. An updated engine and electric start. However, I am a little disappointed with the updates on the Rincon. I was hoping for low range and differential lock.
One thing to note here is that Honda has not introduced an all new model in 2 years. I guess I was really hoping for something all new.
