Default Honda 400EX tires

OK, so I finally got my Honda 400EX (after some well-taken suggestions from reconranger. Thanks BTW) and I FREAKING LOVE IT! I don't really know much about the mechanics of these things, so I'm not completely sure what mods it has. But, I do know it's a 2000 with a DG pipe, DG side guards, DG nerfs, DG front bumper (dude loved DG), and was very well taken care of. The dude I bought it off said it had Moose something-or-other, choke was gutted and it was tuned not to need one (???), and some other stuff I don't remember. Anyways, the tires are pretty worn on this thing and I need to get some new ones. I also want to get some sand paddles. I mainly desert ride on hard dirt and rocky terrain. The sand paddles will be used for the dunes (can't wait to try that out). Any suggestions on some good, not insanely expensive tires? Oh, also I want to put a twist throttle on it. Are different brands of twist throttle kits any better than another?

Oh yeah, also I'm gonna need new rims for the sand paddles so I can swap them out easily. Any suggestions on rims for these as well?

kenda klaws, razrs, and holeshots are a couple of the best. you probably need a 6 ply for your rocky conditions. as for sand paddles, the "V" design will not climb as well as a straight paddle. but the V desing will turn better.

For the desert i would go with the 6-ply holeshots, and for the dunes i run 7-paddle haulers and they work really well. People say that the v-blade tires turn better, but with the haulers you just kind of lean and the back end will swing which ever way you want, which i've found i really like. And most tires you can buy mounted on the rims already, for example i got my paddles from Rockymountainatv.com and i just ordered them mounted on .190 ITP t-9 rims. They come ready to bolt onto your machine.
