the thing is though i dont got a ton of money cuz i dont work and dont plan on it for a while so i cant get a new frame and crf engine cuz it will cost way to much money. but i can find cheeper yz engines. the crf engine is way more money than the yz engines. and the crf engine i heard has valve problums.

and this is stuffstuff just under a diffrnt name cuz i dont use that name any more.

the a-arms are plus 1' forward so that helps a little bit it s pretty well balanced the paddles are 7 paddle gliders so the front end stays down fairly well

ssj12--did you do the motor swap yourself? What did you have to do to the brackets and mounts? Did the swingarm fit or did you have to do somwork to it?

This is what I might be looking for. I have a great 400 with lots and lots of money invested. I would like to put a 650 motor in it, just so I can keep the money I have invested in it. Instead of selling and loosing out.

How does it handle for jumps, balance, and bumps, and compare to the 450's?

Do you have any pics. without plastic?

You have a nice quad!!

ATV Four Play can fit several different motors in the 400EX stock and aftermarket frames. He has all the parts available, including custom exhaust sytems and airbox modifications.

On the contrary, motor swaps are definite possibilities in the Honda frames, and the vibration is hardly noticeable from a bike engine.

On fourplay's web site, under the custom bikes, he has a picture of his 400EX chassis with a Honda 450 dirtbike motor in it. I rode that quad, and it was unbelievable! The vibration was minimal, and the hit of the dirtbike motor gave it incredible acceleration.

well yz engines are way cheeper than crf engines.
plus a guy makes yz engine mounting kits for $280 shipped. cheeper than a $1000 mounting kit. and the yz426 engine makes close to the same hp as the crf and the yz engine is more relible.

i had to cut the front frame rails and bend them down and heat the frame rails on the bottom and notch it out on a couple of spots so the motor would drop down the motor is all the way to the left and the sprocket has to be flipped around and then the sprockets line up perfect i did everything myself except i had a welder touch up my welds it jumps very easy and well balanced it weighs 380 lbs it handles pretty close to the 450s you can call me if you have any more questions 505 887 7049 or 505 706 0383 id love to talk more about it thanks mike

well the guy that makes yz engine mounting kits. well the engine just drops in and your ready to go. all that has to be dun is i would have to figer out how to mout the radiator. i would use a 250r radiator. i dont no if the kick starter clears the frame or not. i for got to ask. but that engine probly isnt coming till next christmis. but my mom is getting more and more sick of my engine so i might get a yz engine soon.
