300ex mod questions
#1
ok I am going to buy some mods for my 300ex(finally) and I could use some help. I am looking on powroll at the select kit-A great ‘bolt on” alternative, this kit provides a 20% increase over stock midrange and top end power.
KIT INCLUDES: TORQUE CAMSHAFT, CAM CORE, AIRBOX LID, i am also going to buy a K&N, and a complete yoshimura exhaust, and rejet what do you think will that give me alot more I love the sand and going fast through trails

Since you want to go through trails fast and love the sand, I would drop one tooth on your counter sprocket (front sprocket). You will have less top end speed (probably 3-4mph less) but you will be able to get to top speed significantly faster. This will only cost you $10-20 and is one of the easiest ways to increase the amount of power that is put to the wheels. My opinion: Why buy an airbox lid AND a K&N air filter? I would go with a K&N air filter with an OuterWears pre-filter minus the air box lid. The pre-filter should be able to prevent nearly everything from getting to the filter, and then the K&N should take care of something if it happens to make it there. Another opinion: Yoshimura is over-rated. I don't know how much you plan to spend on a full system ($500?) but I would seriously think about an HMF, LRD, White Brothers E-Series, or CT racing. Right now on ebay there is an HMF full system for a 400EX for ~$430 including jetting. This is just my opinion though.
