i raced my frend on my stock 400ex nd his stock z nd i keep up with him he barely beets me not even half of a quad length. I think it comes down to the rider.

 

the track me and my friends ride on.....i can smoke the 2 Z400's that ride with us and im pretty close behind the raptor but he kills me on the straights

i used to ride a Z b4 i got the honda and i like the feel of the honda better and can push it more around the track b4 it feels like its gonna bust loose

 

what made you sale your z400 i see in your profile you had one

 

Well if I dragged with my brother on his ex, I would definetely win and he's a way ballsier rider. Racing in the trail may be different, but that's where the whole rider comparison comes in.

 

STOP ASKING THESE QUESTIONS. ALL IT DEPENDS ON IS THE RIDER. ITS 400CC WITHOUT MUCH DIFFERENCE IN LOW END, MID, OR HIGH END.

 

reliability issues

fan went up in it twice, had electrical issues, steering issues.....the quad was brand new off the showroom floor.....finally got sick of taking it back to the dealer so i got rid of it

i owned it just about a year and it was in the shop about 6 times or so

 

Sounds like it was just a lemon. Altough, the 03, an 04's are the ones I've heard problems with.

 

could have been a lemon but i know a few other ppl who have had fan and electrical issues with thier 04 Z's

btw mine was an 04 also

 

I was kinda worried about that electric fan but I've had mine in water up to seat and it still works.

 

i did too a few times and unless they changed the way the fan drains u will run into issues
