i have been riding for about four years now and today i finally got my first pair of actual moto boots. Do any of you now how you can make them more comfortable if they can be?? or do you just get used to them in time?

If you can just walk around in them whenever possible. Other than that it is just ride with them and they will loosen up eventually.

First of all i think that boots are the best thing you can buy for riding protection. They have saved me numerous times. I have Alpinestarts Tech 8's. They are very hard to break in. All i can tell ya is wear them around the house, and ride in em all ya can. Thats how i did it.

As for washing: I spray mine down with a water hose to get all the excess mud off, them I take a toothbrush to all the small parts, then I oil them down and polish them to make em look brand new. And for breaking them in, you just walk in them as much as you can.

i get in the shower with them on too clean them

then oil them afterwards

have used a water blaster before but they are too harsh

a water blaster is good for cleaning non removable pads inside my riding helmet

Go to CVS, or something like that, and buy those gel inserts. They make a world of difference.

I have the most affordable boots I could find. I have the Fox Tracker. They only come in black with the white fox logo which is a downer but the price is reasonable. As for cleaning them, well...Who needs shiny boots to go get muddy in? I just hose mine down cause they are heavy enough without the 15 pounds of caked mud on them. Maybe if I had something expensive like a Tech 8 I would scrub mine with a toothbrush too.
