I've seen 250R's with 400EX plastic...is there a kit that is available to mount the new plastic to the 250R frame, or have these people fabricated their own brackets?

i heard of the kit you are thinkig of. i personally would only use the 400ex front plastic on a 250r because the rear has the space built in for the kick lever. i can't think of the company name off hand but when i do i'll let yoy know

There is no longer a kit available to do this. There was an ad in Dirtwheels, but the company(PRC Racing) never made the kits because too many people were calling that didn't even have 250R's. More people were calling about mounting 400ex fenders on 4x4 machines and things like that so the idea just got scrapped. However, I have heard that it is not that hard to. It is just a matter of buying the fenders first. I did talk to the owner of PRC and he said that it is a straight forward process as long as you have the fenders.

It shouldn't be that hard, Iv' mounted Maier aftermarket TRX250R plastic on a little 185S and it looks pretty damn good. Just cut a few holes and cut off the tank shroud part and mounted the seat and it worked petty good and fits pretty nice too!!!
