ok so just wondering if you guys had like 20 grand to spend on a 250r what whould you spend it on? im looking to really trick out a 250r. my first area of consideration is the engine. i want it to be fast, look nice and sound nice. next the shocks swing arm and a arms. then would be the body and seat cover. then everthing else. so if you guys could give me some sick ideas to make a great mx/ trails 250r that would be apreiciated.

I would choose a Lonestar Desert framed, powervalve 370 or sabertooth built for fourstroke-like bottom end, billet gears, 89 clutch with a Hinson Basket and pressure plate, Elka Dune Series suspension, Slightly wider A-Arms, +2 86 length swingarm, =4 axle and with HID lights... All powdercoated factory colors. Red Frame, Gold A-Arms and Swinger, black motor, black pipe and rad shrouds, gold wheels with Haulers and Mohawks, new 86 white and red body with all factory decals. Basically a retro-rod: more power/handeling/suspension/lighting than needed but from a distance looks totaly stock and flawless.

im not going to go with the stock look. i think the stock look is to over used. i want to find a color combo rarley used or that not many people have. i want this to be uniquie and fast. i was thinking about making it like green and black , a gray and black combo , or a blue and gray combo. im probally going to keep the stock frame and just gusset it b/c a new one is really over price and a stock one is just fine. probally not going with a 370 but with a 310 with reeds pipe head and other stuff. what kinda pipe is the best sounding and best working for a 250r. probally going with elka up front and back, lonstar swinger in the back and lonestar a arms. full bore plastics, tag metals, mabe some hypers in the back, new ignition, and some chrome. do you think this set up will beat piped filtered and reeded banshees? any more input on performance for this quad will be appreiciated and rember its going to be trails/ mx

well im saying that a gusseted frame would be fine. the things i dont like about your atv is the desert gas tank and the plastic. i mean im not saying there bad but not my preference. there was this one 250r on a forum i forget that was black and green and got a total rebuild. thats what i would want it to look like but i cant seem to find it.

I can understand not liking the black plastics as they show scrathes easier. But if you plan on trail riding and don't want to head back to the truck frequently to fill up, you may want to get the XC tank. A 250R can't go very far when ridden wide open with a stock tank. Can't say I've ever seen the R your talking about on these forumns.

im not saying i dont think the tank works but i dont like how it looks sticking up right near the bars. i like black plastics sometimes when there new. i had black plastics on my shee until it got stolen and i liked them.i guess its because they look alittle plain and flat black. i would get gloss with some type of grafix kit or something
