I'm really hoping they will make 50 HP! That would actually be impressive for a production bike...
I refuse to get my hopes up too much, because that's a huge jump.

 

You might recheck your facts. Carb is not bigger, bore and stroke are different, and I have seen very few dyno's on the '06 trx which is a new machine. Let us know what you find for the '06 that shows 38 or 39 horse. Thanks

 

I think this thread is referring to the 2006 trx450r. This is a drawn up chart for a 04 or 05.

 

The 2006 trx450r GOT one or two more horse stock. Honda prints on there documents with the unit that 04/05's have about 41.2 peak horsepower. With the 06 it says about 41.8 or so. The key with the 2006 trx is that Honda claims that if you put an HRC kit on it, you will have about 5 more horsepower than the 05 with HRC.

I rechecked my facts and did a bunch of research. The Engine in the 06 is comepletely different it actually comes from the CRF450R dirt bike. The Carb is a 40 mm FCR compared to the 05 TPS 42mm carb. the Airbox and air filter are now 1.5 times larger than last year. Better radiator for cooling. Eliminated the oil cooler. The compression ratio was changed from 10.5:1 to 12:1 (06'). Engine rpms have increased this year. According to Honda with the HRC kit it is claimed to be 50 hp. (that's from honda not me) no body has a stock hp number at the moment for a 06. The 05 is 38 or 39 my buddy had his 05 Dynoed. hope this helps.

I have a 06 450 and in bone stock form it puts out 40.1 on a dynojet and with a esr filter and jetting it put out 42.7 so with my hrc kit I just have put on I will have to run it again bet I would think 45 maybe
