Default Honda TRX250

I just bought a 1986 Honda TRX250. It runs great but the body is pretty beat up. I've never had a quad before so I want to know what kind of maintenance I should be looking to do to this machine. I know it needs a tie rod and the rear gear oil changed. What kind of gear oil should I use? Is there any major advantage or disadvantage to using a synthetic like redline?

I am pretty sure the gear oil you would need would be called:

Hypoid gear oil SAE 80w90.

I don't think I would put synthetic in it and see no advantage to it.

just change the oil and the filter every couple of months and make sure you dont use an oil with an "energy conserving" label on it anywhere, other wise the clutch will slip. i ride mine hard so i use synthetic oil becasue i believe its better. but grease all the suspension nipples, keep the air filter clean, gas in the tanks and your good to go. and a service manual (clymer brand) would be a good investment for 30 bucks, it tells ya everything. and raptors right, use a hypoid gear oil in the rear diff.
