Default 06 Rincon???

Does anyone know or heard if the low speed engine braking has been improved on the 06 model?

Thanks

Default 06 Rincon???

philjo,

I have never ridden a Rincon but wanted to ask if how you felt about the power. I read & read about how it is the most comfortable riding ute with the best handling but that it is just down on power. I even brought the 04/05 ATVrider to work with me to read their big bore shootout again because it was one where each person (pro's, editor's, & guest's) had to write a paragraph or two which of the 5 they like the best and why. Over and Over they said that the Rin handles like a dream and will take you confidently & comfortably over almost anything (and at high speeds) but that the power was way down. Hopefully the 25cc on the '06 will at least help a tad....

How do you feel about it's power? (also heard that the engine braking isn't that bad with its great brakes....)

It will fool you on power. On flat ground it seems ample. But its the gearing that gets me. If you're hill climbing it just isn't there. It feels like riding my old Suzuki 300 in 2nd gear. The first gear is pretty high or tall. I am not real comfortable with it on inclines, up or down. It lacks badly and I mean what do you really buy an atv for? They say trail machine, pleasure vehicle yada yada. I can get by with it here in the mountains where I live but it isn't very confidence inspiring. I think its better suited for fire roading type trails that are not as extreme. Also the stalling is a bothersome issue for me. I have tried to get it out of mine but so far no luck. Bad enough you have to gun it to go up steep inclines but mine if you let off the throttle to quick it dies, nice feeling! It does ride very nicely and handles easily. But its suspension has faults also, it is really soft and the back end wants to bounce around alot from side to side. The front end also compresses badley or dives causing the Irs to push the bike. Steering is really light. The stock tires don't last anytime. I have 640 miles and mine are already over half worn out and it is spinning badley in the wet stuff now. Maybe the new tires on the 06s will wear better than these.

It is also much slower than the other big bores. So other than being slower, having no low gear, no engine braking, stalling on inclines, and stock tires that wear out looking at them it is good with a smooth comfortable ride. Oh, plus it has no belt to get wet or break.

atvboy1,

Have you ridden a KQ? I have heard that they are a good alternate choice to the Rincon for various trail riding.

I sure have. But only at the dealer's lot. If you nail the throttle it doesn't do anything, (move) for a few seconds. Kinda weired but other than that I liked the bike. After the slight hesitation you can tell the bottom end is stronger than than the Rincon. It really gets moving in the mid range. I also rode a Twin that day (Prairie) It felt alot stronger on the bottom and faster also than the King. I would expect the 06 Rincon to be slightly faster than the current version and more refined. Also the EFI should the damn stalling. Other than that its the same bike. It won't compete with any of the v-twins in power, I know I own one.

I have tested about all the big bores one time or another. I couldn't tell a lot of difference between the Outty 800 and the Kawsaki Brute 750 power wise. Also the Praire 700 is very strong. I personally would buy the Prairie over the King or the Brute.

Why don't you get off my back Atv Tech. I bought it cause I felt like it. It ain't no skin off you're back so why worry about it? Its my opinion and have always said this about the Rincon. I like not having the belt and also the style of the bike I love. The plastic and build is way better. Everytime somebody posts something about a damn Rincon here you come, you have a hardon for the Rincon. Is that all you have to do is go from forum to forum looking for post about a Rincon so if someone says something negative, which everyhting I said is true by the way, you can ask them why. Don't like my Opinion, tough sh*t.

ATVBOY,
Dont give ATVTECH any care.Looks like he is at it again.Funny how he has some sarcastic remark for ANYONE who has the SLIGHTEST distaste for a Rincon that they own or did own..

I owned my 2003 Rincon for 2 yrs and anytime I post anything even remotely negative about it,he has the same sarcastic remarks ready for me.My King Quad would walk circles around the Rincon in most every catogorie, and he hates to hear that, but its the TRUTH IMO.

Well thanks for the pm Atvtech. It takes a big man sometimes to admit things. In turn I think I was out of line a little myself. I kinda blew up at you and I respect AtvTech folks, he knows quads. I don't work at a dealer as he does. I like my Rincon, always have but have also always told people its faults. I put some of the negatives here because I hate for someone to buy thinking one thing and be let down because it doesn't meet their needs.

Now I think that is all settled and hope know one is mad at me he he!
