take it easy there powerismygame, your post quoted ABS and four wheel drive that kicks in on its own. Polaris doesn't have ABS and the Polaris version of kick-in-on-its-own is not all it's talked up to be. Front wheels aren't connected to the back, even in AWD, when decending hills (EBS). You just slide that rear down the hill, hopefully keeping it straight. You didn't know that?

And yes, had a good ride my Honda yesterday, thanks. Sure would be smoother AND handle better with an active suspension.

Actually polaris does have EBS, just not to the front wheels, only the rear, which works just fine where I ride.
Personally I would not trade my automatic full locking front diff for for front wheel ebs although some would I guess.
I need full lock driving alot more then I need full lock braking.
And I can always use the brakes if rear ebs is not enough.

I can get by without a stereo that would kill the batt in a few minutes too.
Which is the major linitation to your quad being a campfire stereo IMHO.
Subwoofers??? good luck.

Although, I would like to see more of the utility options available

yes what I've seen around Toronto (and north) is rather flat, so I can understand not worrying about downhills too much. But the fixed brake bias on the Polaris just drags the back worse.

the more I think about it, the hydralic system sounds like a great feature

I've had mine running for up to 6 hours around the fire. And the old girl fired right up. But no subs, just 6x9's

Actually I'm more over on the Manitoba border part of Ont, Canadian Shield is rugged here but not mountainess. ( hills don't go on for miles but can get steep 30%) it just seems to me anything you can climb in 4x4 can be decended in 2x4 with very little hyd brake asistance. My 96 has is 2 stroke so engine braking is minimal (15% of 4 stroke engine, my guess) and I still got 2000 miles out of my first set of brakes.
I actually thought my brakes were overpowered on the front if anything. If you get right off the throttle when decending it can skid the rear, but if the fronts were coupled as well it might still slow to much. Remember a gear trans isn't going to downshift itself into "ultralow" like a auto. The more it downshifts the more aggressive the engine holds back. Even with a 2000 lbs trailer the engine still hold enough for grades of 10 to 12% .

As for the stereo if you keep the bass in reason and keep the volume down (somewhat) i could see getting a few hours out of a fairly new batt.
In high school we used to kill car batts partying with a small stereo by todays standards. Of course a extra batt could be added. But 10" sub ain't going to leave you "LMAO" for long.

Of all the things mentioned, I feel that a high-performance 4x4 with a manual clutch would be my top choice. One thing that would be the best to add, but the hardest to do so, would be for all riders to actually have enough intelligence to realize that they are riding a vehicle that can hurt or kill them if they do something stupid. IOW, the best thing to add to any ATV is a smart rider. But that will never happen, and we will forever have to deal with retards and lawyers because of it.

Now your talking! Although Polaris had a diesel for about 2 years it was a flop. But it had no turbo. That would be interesting. Nothing like slapping a Edge w/ attitude programmer on your quad.

Did you see the ATV magazine that had a 750ex with turbo charger - but it was an April fool's joke. I can't remember what all it had but it was way beyond anything we've seen yet.
