Default 250 and 300 clutches

I'm just wanting to know for sure if the clutches from a 300 honda are the same as the clutches from a 250 big red three wheeler. For some reason something tells me they are the same and will work. Here's the problem. My old big red has clutch problems, they're slipping under power and when I'm coasting down a hill, the engine compression braking holds me back for a bit, and then all of a sudden the clutches kick out and then I'm free wheelin' down the hill until I tap the throttle again. This isn't the greatest way to try to come down a steep hill. Anyway, I can get clutches from a 300 honda that didn't have a lot of miles on it for pretty cheap so I'm just making sure that they'll work before I get them. Thanks.

Default 250 and 300 clutches

im thinking they are but im not sure, but on my old 250 honda , when going down hill and used the engine braking it would hold untill they engine rpm got so low that the clutch would disengage and i would state going faster.

Default 250 and 300 clutches

I found a parts microfiche for both machines. The only thing I can see that is different is the clutch weights. The 250 has 4 weights, and the 300 has 5. From looking at the pictures the clutches look the same (except the clutch weights) so it leads me to believe that it will work. Where's Knowsalot when you need him? lol
