Default HMF jetting

i got a 04' 450R with a HRC kit installed in it. i live in Minnesota, and i just ordered a HMF slip on and it should be here tomarrow. now my question is. what exactly do i need to jet this thing? guys at HMF said to use a 180-185 main jet, and the airfuel screw should be 2.5-3 turns from closed.... where do i get a 180-185 jet from? how much? is it hard to install the jet?

is this all i need to jet the main jet and the airfuel?

Yep should be all you need, the HRC kit comes with a 185 already so i assume you have a 185 main in there
as far as changing it ,theres a hex on the bottom of the carb(13 0r 17 mm I forget) turn your gas off unscrew that and the jet is right there, with a 1/4" ratchet and socket you can pull it and put the new on in ,in less than 5 min.

so even though right now my quad is tuned correcty with an HRC kit, by adding a new exhaust it will still be turned right with no jetting?

Yes with an HRC kit and a slip on OR full system your jetting will be 180 to 190,so the 185 is right down the middle of the road

just got the pipe today, put in on, took about 2 min. started it up.. wow. i thought it was fast before, now its insane fast, i never knew just by adding on an exhaust would make such a difference. it seems like it needs no tuning at all. but yea, it has soooo much more low end snap now. it never had that before. usually it didnt have much for low end, but once it was reved up it went fast, now its fast all the way though the rpms. when i was going down the road i couldnt keep the front end down. and i love the sound as well. that loud throaty roar ( im glad i dont have neighbors) every penny of it was worth it.

if anyone is looking for an exhaust go with HMF awesome awesome pipe.

this kinda ended up being a review of it but oh well im still suprised that it needs no tuning. maybe it wasnt tuned right in the first place with the HRC kit, becasue it just seems like this thing has a new engine in it, its insane how snappy it is now.
