No Airbox Lid-What should I use???
#1
I bought a 2001 400ex w/440 kit. I currently run with no air box lid, a UNI foam filter, no snorkel, spark arrestor removed from stock exhaust. This is how it was when I bought it off this guy. I'm thinking I need some sort of lid, 'cause crossing creeks and hosing off the quad gets the air filter wet. I know ehsracing.com has that custom outerwears lid filter. What do you guys think I should use? Anyone use that filter from ehsracing or know of another similar setup by a different company? Would a stock lid hold back any power?
Also wanting suggestions for aftermarket shocks. Good quality/lower price
Any feedback would be helpful - I'm new to the fourwheeling scene.
Thanks!

well depending if your bike is jetted and stuff it might be jetted to run without a air box top maybe get one of those anti water covers for the air filter. Or just get any top that will fit you might have problems tho when it cuts down the airflow and need to rejet the bike.

Check with K&N, I think they make a product for your model called an Xstream PowerLid. It's an airbox lid with a filter unit built in. It provides more filtered air flow than and stock lid without the risk of running without a lid entirely.

I use the EHS lid and it works great. I wash my quads with the seats on so I get very little water near the filter. If you wash it without the seat get a stock lid and put it on just for washes.
