My 88 250R's footpegs do not attach to the frame the way my manual says they are supposed to. On my frame, there is a rectangular post that has a hole in it. The footpeg mounts to that. The manual has a bracket that bolts to the frame, and the footpeg mounts to it. Is my frame correct for an 88-89, or has some modification been performed on it. I am going to get nerf mars and it would suck to find out my frame is modified and nerf bars won't fit. Any help here is appreciated. Thanks.

Well my footpegs on my 88 are attached the same way yours are. One bolt through a squared end steel tube. Are you looking at the clymer manual? If so 99% of the pictures in there are off of an 86 R. Hope this helped.

Yeah, I went to MacDizzy's site and checked the microfish he has. They are correct. I feel kind of silly asking that question. I have noticed several discrepencies in that manual. Thanks.

that was a change in the 88 250R..the 87 had the style that bolts to the frame.
