I need some new shocks for my 400EX, and was curious which kind I should get. I ride on the MX track pretty regularly, but also trail ride. What kind of shocks would you guys suggest?

i wouldn't go with works first off. you could get the revavled front and back i think as TCS. their 10x better than works in my opinion. go to www.kandkatv.com
and check out the shocks shocks section and give them a call. i haven't delt with them but have heard they are extermely nice to work with!

Get my stockers revalved? Or get the Works and have them convert them to TCS?

I have an '86 trx250r and need new shocks for it. I like the performance of the stock shocks, but tend to bottom them out due to my weight (220lbs ). I would think that getting the triple rate works performance set up for my weight and riding style would be even better than stock. And since I like the stock performance, and the works should be better, why spend the extra bucks on the TCS?

Am I way off base here or what?

I can have the rear converted to TCS, but I would have to buy the Works in order for the fronts to be converted.

Has anyone had this conversion done to their Works? Or had any past experience with TCS and their shocks?

ive rode 400ex's with both brands...in my opinion they felt all most identical...both are plush off landings giving you an awesome soft ride, killing the stockers....im 210lbs and am ordering the works tripple rates with resivoirs this week as a matter of fact....tcs is awesome too, just like NIKE brand, its got allot to do with the name, just depends on if you want to spend all that $$$$$$ hope this helped

I'm glad to hear from someone who has ridden a 400EX with both the Works and the TCS. I think the Works would be best for me. What about a-arms? Do you know of any good, strong a-arms for little $$$? Also, do you have a picture of your 400? It sounds nice. Thanks a lot.

well about all a arms are expensive...i race tt and mx and am going to use spacers on front...i ride trails allot also therefore i need the option of narrowing my quad...my durablue allows it and the spacers just come right off...i think you can get adjustable a arms but they cost lots.....i just shaved my plastic and put a new bumper on and will probably wait and put my shocks on before i put any pics up....i want it to be perfect,hehe....but i love it, its my baby and shes looking very good......
