How do I store my 400ex for a few months?

pull your spark plug and put a little oil in there, turn the kill switch to off and crank a couple time to coat the cylinder wall, this will help prevent corrosion. Remove the battery and keep where its warm and charge occasionally. Put a little stabilizer in the fuel. Do not drain the fuel, you will be better off to keep fuel in the carb. When your ready to ride again drain the gas and put new stuff in. Check your airbox for mouse nests also. Some say to keep the wheels off the ground also. Another method for storage is just to start the engine every two weeks and let it warm up. I am sure you could find a friend to ride it for a couple minutes every couple weeks if your not capable. Whatever you decide, keep it covered!!! Its a real bummer to have to stop riding for a while, good luck!

My job requires alot of travel and I am away from home for 4-6 weeks at a time and I was also concerned about this. My solution was to let my brother-in-law keep my quad at his house for my nephew and neice to ride occasionally, if this is not possible maybe a friend or neighbor could at least start it now and then. Otherwise the above advice sounds very good.
