01 honda 350 no spark???
#1
Hi,
I have a honda 350 2001 the other day I was out for a spin got off the bike 5 min later i went out to start the bike and it didnt start. I looked it over and im not gettin a spark. I tried a new plug, even switched the obvious parts over to antoher bike like the coil and they work fine, if there are anymore checks I could do, and things to look for would be a great help. I have power to everything just no spark. Also probably on coincidence that it happens right after but a few days before this problem occured I killed my battery, but got it started and charged up. Thanks for the help.

Electrical parts can fail at any time, there usually is no warning so chances are it has nothing to do w/ your battery.
If you want to diagnose this yourself, find a service manual or buy one, its cheaper than replacing electrical parts to find the problem. The CDI, pickup coil, ignition coil, coil wire, spark plug and cap, ignition and kill switches, connections and wiring can cause no spark.

Your shift drum broke, that's what turns on your netural light, and then there will be no spark. I don't believe you can pull start it either. (with another machine that is).
Here's what I do on the right side rear tire there are some elestrical connector. if you have a manual shift it's a square 4 wire connector, or if it's a manual its a 2 wire square connector. on the harness side your should have a green with a red srtip. Jump that wire to ground first and see if the light comes on, I think though you have to jump it too the positive post. If that makes you light come on then you have a broken shift drum.
I have done lots of these the changed the shift drums in 03. You have to pull the motor out and apart to change it.

Is your ignition coil grounded properly? If the wire was never properly grounded it might have come undone and thus resulting in no spark. Also check the wires for and damage, and if you are still stumped, check the magnets & coils in the right side engine case to see if anythings loose.
