The Honda 300 is claimed to be bullet proof. IS this true? From my personal experience, I believe that it is. I know of 300s that have gone to hell, no joke. I have seen them barrel roll down a 150 foot hill, land on its wheels, and still running. And only bending the handle bars.

I think i know of the most abused quad there is. This thing is unreal. Used to be a 4x4, now its only front wheel drive. The backend went to hell so he took out the drive shaft in the rear and welded the differental clutches together. when the bearings went, instead of replacing them, he put a weld in that act like a weld, sort of. I have done some pretty wicked stuff with mine to. Flipped it on the road by rubbing tires. when it bounced of the rear rack, it flew 35 feet through the air and landing on the rear wheel, bending the axle very badly. $150 in the first week, not bad.

My friend has a 1986 300 with a bad engine, so he want's to buy a new top end. I want to shoot it at 100 yards with a 270 to see if it still runs. I don't know. Are they really bullet proof??

I have to agree with you there. I've seen many a beat up 300 still runnin, and don't know how they were doing it. Also seen a lot of old 250's and 350's doing the same. The older Honda quads are definitely close to bullet proof as they come.

yeah my buddys old 300 is unbelievable. it can take my rancher in a race (on top end anyways). his is all stock too. i have raced many other 300's that looked like they were well taken care of and i completely smoked them. i think in the 300's case the more you beat them up the better they run!!!!!

That seems right. The harder you beat them, the beter the run.

My friend Brian's EX tumbled end-over-end down this at least 40 foot tall, near verticle slope, and all it did was break the headlight thingy!

The only quad that i have had any experience to be actually bullet-proof would be the 200Sx... it kept runnin untill the engine had no power and still ran ok for a 14 yr old quad
