im getting ready to order some mx shocks...i know when ordering you specify whether you are using them with +2 or stock a arms, to get a specific shock....well im using just spacers on the front so i can ride trails on the off season ....will this have effect on my shocks?....

one more question,....i race tt and mx, and deff plan on using the spacers on front for tt, but do you think there will be any damage or anything wrong with using them on mx?
thanks

Im not real sure on this one, so don't quote me on it. I think that the only reason that they ask is because on extended a-arms, the shock mounts are moved out so if you want stock ride height, they have to have longer shocks. I don't know if that's right or not. Just my idea.

+2 a arms are obviously longer by 2" and since they are only 8 or 10" to begin with, it changes the pressure on the shock by roughly 20% Did you notice it was a little easier to bottom out with the spacers? I would think so, but you are spacing after the spindle, so I am not sure. When you order Works, they set up the shocks about 20-30% stiffer for +2 as opposed to stock.
Imagine a see saw when you were a kid and how 1 person at the end of one could be equal to 2 kids on the other depending on placement of the kids. The a arm principle is similar, you are moving the pivot point even though the shock stays where it was.
