In numerous shoot outs the raptor lost to the 400ex. Who cares about drag racing. Top speed doesn't matter, unless you stricktly drag. I am tired of raptor guys coming up with excuses when looseing at motocross. At least the 400ex riders have a good excuse, the raptor has a 260cc advantage.

Its the difference between a 426 'Cuda and a Porshe 911. I'd take the 'Cuda anyday and twice on Sunday! Power...there is no substitute!
On a different note. I've ridden with a Raptor before, and they are WAY TOO high geared! We were riding in the mountains on bike trails, and that thing died everytime he try to climb a hill from a dead stop.

Who cares what is better, i actually prefer my X over a 400ex call me crazy but thats just my preferance. i know of 250s and 300s that beat some 400s but anyway why dont you quit complaining and just ride

 

Why is it that everyone says the raptor is narrower than the 400ex? I put my raptor toe to toe (front wheels to front wheels) with my friends 400ex and guess what?, the raptor is actually a little bit wider than the ex. not by much looks close to one inch over all but it IS wider. Try this yourselves! you too will see.

I too am not biased I also used to have a 400ex with a lot of mods. Between the 2 bikes the raptor just works better for me for the type of riding I do.

They seem almost the same, except one has a way bigger motor.. Id go with the raptor if I had the money. But I would gladly take a 400ex ;-)
