Default 300ex needs top end help

I have 1997 300ex with:
-full white bros. e-series
-K&N air filter
-Dyno jets
-and thats basically it for the preformance mods

My problem is when im accelerating about 3/4 in to the gear it will top out and start making the most awful sound like its redlining almost. Obviously before I put on most of the mods it would accelerate fine. I need sugestions on what size jet to use and how many discs to put on the e-series pipe, because i no that it has something to do with the air/fuel ratio. Im getting really pissed because in order to change jets i gotta take the tank off, plastic, and then carb. Please help me with some of ur great wisdom lol!

Why are ya taking it apart, just use a short phillups screwdriver to remove bowl, and a short flathead to remove jet. Your jetting depends on alot of things. Remove spark plug after full throttle in like 3rd gear and topped out on rpms for a few seconds. If it is perfectly white then its too lean, if so you need bigger jet, if tan its perfect, if black it needs a smaller jet. Try this method and see if it helps. RUSS

By the way welcome aboard the best forums in the country. You could also drop a 350x engine in there, that will help a bunch. RUSS

I cant use only a phillips and a flathead screwdriver to change the jets because the gas tank and plastic is covering it. Even if that stuff wasnt thier the part of the carb i need to get to is on the bottom of the carb so i still need to at least spin it around. But that is a pretty good idea instead of taking carb out just spin around to get to it. It would make it a little easy but still is a pain in my ***. Oh yea thanx for replying man i appretiate it!
