Help- How much to rebuild Rancher 350 motor???
#1
Looking for input on about how much it costs to do a basic rebuild of my 02' 350 Rancher 4x4 motor. Motor is running okay but she is puffing blue smoke when you get on it. I'm new to this so any help would be appreciated.

I agree. New Piston, rings, bore the cylinder, and replace the wrist pin and bearing if it has a separate wrist pin bearing. Also check the valves and replace the valve seals. That will probably fix your smoking issues.

Loanshark,
Not sure how many hours are on it. I bought from the 2nd owner but I'd say at least 1,000 miles, proabably more just by the overall wear-n-tear on the machine. I have not put any time on the machine yet, since I gave to a mechanic friend to do some basic repairs to brake cables, CV boot, etc.
He just informed me that the top end looks like in needs to be re-done, too. I might just do some light duty riding for a month or so then do the top.
Thanks for the reply.
