I don't think it's going to happen.AS LONG AS THE 400EX'S SALES ARE STILL WAY UP!I am not saying it won't happen in the near future I just don't see it happening. What do U guys think? Even with the new bad a@@ raptor out honda will see it's sales rigures way up and say well it must be enough or no body would buy a 400 just raptors.

True but look at what yamaha did, they've always had pretty steady sales with the banshee and then they came out with the raptor. In my opinion it really wouldnt be a bad idea for a manfacture to offer both a 2 and 4 stroke high performance quad. That way you can make both 2 and 4 stroke enthusiasts happy without makin them jump the boat for a different brand. Just my 2 cents. Dave

Honda is going the oppesite way as yamaha.Honda is more geared toward family and enviromental issues.Have a look at hondas 250ex and their 4 stroke waverunner.C mon honda give us performance guys a brake.Thats pretty much why I switched from a die hard honda person to Yamaha.Reliability is great but I think id rather have performance anyday.Bring on hondas 4 stroke waverunner against my Yamee gp1200r.Goodbyeeeeeee

Yeah, i have to agree that about Honda. Honda is more like an Al Gore State of mind and Yamaha is like the Republican side. Bush would say if you can make it then go ahead its a free Country have fun. The Democrats worry about the Environment and who might get sued. Have you been on the new Kawasaki jet ski that came out last year, forgot what its called, my friend says it is like the Banshee while the Gp is like a 400ex. He owns them both, but i think that 60mph on the water is fast enough for me anyday.

I would think the 400 would sell fine even if there was a 650 ex made. The 400 is a nice middle of the road size not to large and clumsy and not a small weakling. Honda makes a CR 500 but the CR125s and 250s out sell them.

Yeah, but the 400ex is no cr250, its not even a cr80! As of right now Honda has no High Performance ATV, the last time they did was 1989.

450EX:
Liquid Cooled
6 gears(hopefully)more than likely 5
10 inches of travel on the rear shock
11.5 on the front
more swing-arm ground clearance than 400EX
Reverse!!!!
10.5:1 compression ratio
O and a more comfortable seat??

That should do the Raptor in.

Your GP1200R won't stand much of a chance if it's sitting on the trailer because there is nowhere legal to ride it...

There will come a day.... Maybe not tomorrow, but it will come. Look at the trends and the political climate, plans are already in the works... I firmly believe they'll get 2 strokes off the water before the get them off the land.

Honda is poising itself to be a market leader when it does happen... Once again, think about it.

I'm agree with Bigred250x, I will be in love with a 450ex, liquid cooler, instead of a big, heavy 650ex. Will be my dream, imagine put on a 500cc big bore kit, I know that you can get easily 52hp's from it.

Lightweight is simple neccesary.
