lately my 450r has been very hard to start, ive tried towing it with my friends quad to start it on compression, it doesnt wanna start but it will kind of turn on while we were towing it and shuts off when we stop, i also thought i was my ignition or something, i changed my spark plug, still no luck, i even tried to hotwire it after checking everything and stil no luck, it has several mods on it, pipe, air filter, no lid...could this be the source of the problem? any help would be appreciated.

 

When is the last time you checked your valves? The first sign of valves out of adjustment is hard starting.

 

Check your compression.

 

i checked the compression it is within the normal psi, but i never checked my valves, i dont know how to do that

 

If compression is good then valves are OK. Check for spark and fuel.

 

I think I would try fresh gasoline.
