Stock, I would say low 40's. With HRC kit and muffler, mid to maybe high 40's.

What gearing your running???

I have a 480 big bore, stage II Hotcam, ported and polished head, FMF Q2 muffler and a Uni filter with rejetted carb.
So I would guess on mine hi 40's to low 50's?

i just bought a new 05 450r the other day, have not had a chance to take it out in the woods yet but plan on riding a ton this weekend on the trails. i previously owned a 04 dvx and loved it. what can i expect from the 450r? also is the hrc kit good for the trails, meaning quiet enough and spark arrested legal? anybody running pro design filter kit?
i ran it on my dvx and it really brought out the lowend torque. i heard the 04 and 05 450r has a real tall first gear, is this a problem on tight trails.

If it has stock sprockets now and you are a trail rider then I would buy one tooth less on the front sprocket.

stock air filter is decent, but get the HRC kit and atleast a k&n or hi flow foam filter. with the open air box from HRC and one less tooth, you should be great

In my opinion, keep the stock air filter. It will supply your with more than enough air for how built it is and do the best job of keeping dirt out of your motor. Aftermarket air filters are a waste of money in my opinion, unless yours is destroyed. Ask yourself this, do you really want to take the chance of introducing more dirt into your motor for maybe a quarter of a horsepower or no extra horsepower at all. Don't waste your money.
