i have a 265X w/ all the suspension mods but now i want to do the motor its stock all but the high comp piston, uni filter, lectron carb, no airbox lid and the pipe. i want to be competive w/ the 400s around here. what cam should i use?? i can get some stock 400 valve springs cheap i know theyre strong but would they fit?? i have a guy that is doing the porting. hes made some fast 250 and 300s but i need some advice on what worked for you people out there. tell me about your rides.

First off, I started out with a 300EX motor. Not a big deal, because the 250X and 300EX are the same thing. You also live in PA, and may be able too take your motor right down too Tom without having too ship it.....Like me(from MN).

TC motor mods....
330 engine kit(piston, sleeve, gaskets, and circlip), Camshaft, Valve springs, CDI, and headwork(ported head, valve job).
I run a complete WhiteBrother's exhaust system with bored carb and airbox mods(UNI filter). I wanted too run the TC exhaust, but it is alittle too loud for my tastes. I ride some trails between races, and I didn't want too wreck it for everyone else.
The motor is awesome...... Producing just under 35rwHP(17 stock). The TC parts cost just over $1000 dollars. Worth every penny in my book.

I highly recommend TC Racing.

 

yeah i have been to his shop numerous times but never had the money! im only 15 but i made some money this summer and couls do some of that stuff! he used to work at leisure time toys in corry (where i go to school 5 min away) i know he does good work! thank for the advice ill let you know what i end up doing

hey cstark, did you get your 330 back together? if so how do you like it

 

no one else has any 250x or 300exs they want to tell me about?? does anyone know if the 250X has a rev limiter?? i know the 300 does but the X also uses a diff cdi box.

 

If my 250X has a rev limiter i haven't hit it.

 

thats what i was wondering because neither have i one time i hoped there was one there when my chain snapped on the holeshot but it didnt hurt the motor

 

ive heard the 250x doesnt have a limiter, atleast my friends doesnt...so you have to be careful with them...I use to have a 330 ex also and loved it,,,,wish i could have kept it to run in the 300 class, but money was the only draw back! your x sounds really cool though....GOTTA LUV THOSE HONDAS!

since yall have x's and ex's thought you might know someone in need of a good carb....i have a 33mm mikuni flatside racing carb that only has 30 min. on it....i got rid of my 330 when i just recieved it for the yellow ex....it will fit a x or ex and cost me 325 new from trinity racing but will get rid of it for 100 dollars even plus like 8 for shipping...THATS A DEAL, i just need the money for christmas and the carb isnt doing me good sitting here....i have the choke, throttle cable, everything, instructions, EVERYTHING still in box sitting here...let me know and help a honda brotha out!
