Just wonder why?
I personally ride trails 90% of the time and wouldnt ride with out them. I bought a set for my 700r the same day I bought quad so would have for first ride.

I had AC's on my 400ex, i liked them but sumtimes they pissed me off. I always had sticks come up through the nets and jab me in the leg, got my foot stuck in the nets one day while riding a wheelie (flipped over backwards on me) and i had a stick come up thru the nets and bent my shifter in a 90 degree angle. I think they make a quad seem really big and bulky. I'm not saying u shouldn't get them, its your quad, do what u wanna do to it.

The first thing I bought for my quad was a set of nerfs. I had never ridden with them before, but I will never own a quad without a set now. As far as not needing them for trails, I disagree. They have saved my feet countless times from rocks, small logs, and other trailside hazards, not to mention when you accidentally slip your foot of the peg, you don't have to worry about running it over. But your choice.

I thought that i could stand not having nerfs on the new quad, till i rode it without them. I've had them on the past 4 quads, and now i have them for the new one. I rode without them for about 2 weeks, and was like this sucks. i never hit the track, and only ride the dunes for a week out of the year, the rest is all trails and i love the nerfs. make sure you get the ones where you can adjust how tight the webbing is. it makes it a lot easier to make them fit your riding style, i personally like mine hanging down aways. but i can't see how people hate nerfs. just my opinion tho. let us know what you decide. also, what kind of quad do you have? If you can affored them, get the nefts that have the heel guards built in.
