Do you guys run any mix of Racing gas with your 06 450R's or how much compression justifies it?

with anything under 13:1 race gas is a waste of money, and with a low compression and high octane you wont get a good full burn so it'll hurt you more than a helps

My buddies 06 pings on 91 octane pump gas, all that is available around here. We added Klotz octane booster, and that cures it!

Pump gas if only going to get worse, with ethanol, etc.!

thank you, white7, at least SOME people understand the concept of high octane fuels and their use.

I would agree and actually use super (91-93 octane) in anything with over 10:1 compression. Some automotive manufacturers recommend super for as little as 8:1 compression. By comparison anything as high as 13:1 should certainly benefit from true race fuel.

But, every individual machine is different, so you can't just go "by the numbers". It's like jetting, you have to get on the bike, take it for a ride, and see how it runs under any particular set of conditions.......

Some automotive manufacturers recommend super for as little as 8:1 compression.
What auto manufacture recommends super for an 8 to 1 engine?
