have a honda rubicon 500 ,2003 ,trx500.And i have a few problems and need some help.First of all ill be driving the quad in d1 or esp it doesnt matter and give it some gas it does nothing.it almost sounds like the gears slipping ,when this happens the rear tires dont spin.the sound is coming from the around the control motor by the gear shift drum in that general area.but it only does it once in a while mostly when i go to climp something but mostly when im driving slow no problem driving fast.At this time i have to try and catch the gear or whatever it is so it catches so i can drive again.Please help me this problem thank u

 

that has a centrifugal clutch so you have to give it a little more gas to get the clutch to fully engage........

try adjusting the clutch....theres a locknut on the clutch cover, loosen it and then turn the screw counter-clockwise until you feel resistance then turn it clockwise 1-2 turns and fasten the locknut.

 

I have been on a never ending search for the most reliable, maintance free (besides oil change/air filter/lube) , and off road capable atv. I have looked at al lthe major brands of atv`s about sold on suzuki eight but for the money might get a honda 500 class atv. Wondering how these do in the real worl i seen atv video on bombarier atvs the honda flat out got wooped on in all depts. But im not going to be extreem on it. Just mudding, snow, and trail riding. I live really far from the any dealer so i dont wantt ogo back and forth anythign i should know ?
