I have heard the '85 350x is faster than an '86. Has anyone else heard this and if so what is the difference between them? What does it take for an '85 to run with a 400EX?

I think a both 350x's will run with or beat a 400EX due to the weight difference.

I had an 85 and the differences between it and an 86 were negligible. The motors were the same. I know they would outrun 250X with no problem, and would outrun a Warrior with no problem. When I got rid of it the 400 hadn't come out yet so I don't know. The 350X was pretty light, less than 300lbs if I remember correctly.

I have an 85 350X , I raced some cocky stranger I ran into on some trail by a river in my town . He kept screwing around wiz by me like he was the king or something ?? I finally raced him down the highway . Blew him away from the take off . IN the first race about 8th mile I didnt even hit 6th gear . We raced again probably a mile . Again I beat him from the start . My $1200 machine blew this guys $5000+ machine . I went home smiling thats for sure .

NICE350X, What was this other guy riding? Is your machine stock?

hey gr8t, the differences in the two trikes are minimal, no effect on top speed. when my 86 was stock (untill recently) i could outrun 400's all day. karl

What is the top speed of a 350X with that 6th gear being on it? I'm thinkin of putting that engine in my 250X. Will i run with the 400's?

I also have a 250x and am looking into that conversion.
