Default rincon temperature light

Just got back from a weekend of riding my 06 ricon in real serious mud.Washed off the radiator many times .noticed the temp.light come on a few times.Mostly when I sit with the machine idling or when I was driving around real slow. When I get movin it went out.How serious is this indicator of heat?Is it like an idiot light on a car when it comes on its too late or just a warning to deal with it.I could hear the fan running when I shut off the motor but turned the key on.I am thinking maybe the sensor that tells the fan to come on isnt turning it on often ,or soon enough.Anyone got any advice?I want to find a larger radiator and a kit to relocate it up onto the front rack.I will be in mud a lot down here in florida. We ride in swamps and cowfields and swampy cowfields.

Did you remove the screen covering the radiator? The oil cooler is right up against the radiator and makes it difficult to get the mud out. Try flushing it from the back side. Check out RinconRiders.com for some great tips and mods for this and other areas on the Rincon.

A good tip on the Rincon for deep mudding. Move the oil cooler out away from the radiator. It makes cleaning alot easier. Also a cheap super soaker squirt gun works pretty well to clean the radiator on the trail. Sounds funny but it shoots a strong beam of water that can get into the fins on your radiator.

thanks for all the tips guys .I found out what a slacker I am cleaning the mud.I was installing a front winch mount and had to remove the screen and the screen mount plastic and found a whole lot of mud that I completely missed.Wow this florida mud is like concrete when it dries too.I think I will need to be more thorough cleaning next time.Aiso put some water wetter in the coolant.Am trying to find a water proof toggle switch to override the fan switch with too.The spacers on the oil cooler is next.I expect to find lots of mud in between the radiator and the oil cooler that I missed.

Sounds like you still have mud caked in the radiator.
I'm not intending to highjack your thread, but I need help with posting. I am a new member and for some reason I cannot get my new threads to show up. I have tried posting quite a few times, but my post just don't show. I can reply in a post started by someone else though. Any thoughts?
